Once Upon a Thyme: Chapter Nineteen

Hello everyone and welcome back to Once Upon a Thyme! We are almost to the end of this legacy! It's a happy and sad moment for me, but we still have a few more chapters before we get there.

We left off last chapter with Ginseng finding out his wife Desiree is officially pregnant with generation nine!

Despite being a loner, Desiree has a popularity aspiration. So, I sent her down to the library to meet some sims and work on completing the different milestones. Thanks to her incredibly friendly reward trait, I was able to complete pretty much every milestone before her pregnancy was finished. The only thing she has to do now is max her charisma skill.

I took this while Desiree was still at the library to show that even the library is suffering from the random missing objects glitch that I'm having.

Anyway, as I eluded to before, Desiree spent pretty much her entire pregnancy working on her aspiration. Which did benefit everyone else because I could make them skill still while she wasn't home.

I'm so excited that she's in labor with the first baby of generation nine!

It's a girl! Meet baby girl Cinnamon! I used strawberries for her, because I actually remembered to do so this time.

Most of the time I do space the pregnancies out, however I decided that this time I wasn't going to. See, originally I hadn't decided if I wanted to continue my random generator for the heir, or just automatically make Cinnamon the heiress. After thinking, I decided to just go ahead and make all the pregnancies back to back, that way I CAN use the random generator.

The main reason I didn't want to at first was because if I spaced them out like I usually do, and the random generator chose the third born child, then I would have to wait quite a while before I'd be able to bring in the tenth generation and whenever I get this close to the end of a legacy I get so excited and impatient that the idea of that wasn't acceptable to me.

Ginseng, however, didn't seem to be all too excited that his wife was pregnant so soon after the birth of their first child.

Look at it this way Ginseng, the sooner they're born the sooner you can start telling Dad jokes to more than one kid. You are a joke star after all.

It seems that the thought of telling Dad jokes made him change his mind, and soon he was actually excited about Desiree's pregnancy.

Speaking of Dad jokes, one of my favorite memes is the one that uses screenshots from Walking Dead and shows Rick telling Carl a Dad joke (I so wish that they actually happened in the show,) and this is one of my favorite of those:

My right sock is soaked. If you see a new one, I could use a shoe.

Bless you.

Dad, seriously, there's a hole in my shoe.

Mine too, Carl, that's how I put my foot in.

My joke was so funny that it killed Miguel!

Not really of course, he's dying from old age.

Our founder, Laurel, and Angelica were there to witness his death. He died very quickly, I think it's because I never was able to get a child to reach the right spot of their career to give him credit for them reaching the top of their career.

I now regret aging Angelica up when I did, because she died moments after her husband. Poor Laurel was there to witness this as well.

Even though he was sad, Ginseng was very attentive to Cinnamon's needs. He's very cute with her.

I HAVE FINALLY SEEN A SIM THROW UP IN MY GAME! WOOHOO!

"Are you cheering over my misery?"

Just a little.

Cinnamon has become a child! She looks a lot like her Mom right now.

She almost looks identical to her Mom right now.

Ironically, she has the same personality of the youngest child of generation two, Paprika.

I just recently started putting socks on my sims. I realized some of these shoes would be uncomfortable without socks in real life so I should give them socks! I do wish they had some shorter socks that looked more like ankle socks though.

Desiree was helping Cinnamon with her homework and she looked up at her Mom with the meanest look like "Mom, I know how to do this."

I forgot to use strawberries for her pregnancy, but that's okay because the legacy is almost over so even if I have to use some obscure spice name it'll be just fine.

However, I lucked out and it was a girl! Her name is Chicory!

I didn't get the confetti in this picture, but Desiree's face was to awesome not to capture it.

You saw this picture on the cover, but clearly Ginseng isn't too happy...again...

"You told me they'd like my Dad jokes. Cinnamon just tells herself stories instead."

First, I never said they'd like them, I just said you could tell them. Second, your daughter is insane, so of course she tells stories to herself.

Case in point, she's in the playroom telling herself a story. I'm not gonna lie, I really do like insane sims. I've lucked out and I only get a few bad mood swings, most of the time they're positive moodlets.

So I'm starting to think that the cowplant only lives for a certain period of time, sort of like a sim, because I was very good about feeding it and I had just fed it an hour or two prior to finding it dead outside.

Ginseng has finally reached the split in the entertainment career and is able to take the comedy path as his aspiration requires him to do.

Cinnamon has completed everything except for getting an A in school for her Whiz Kid aspiration, so I decided to go ahead and have her work on her creativity skill so that she can do Artistic Prodigy next.

Chicory is now a child, and I have to say that so far she looks more like her Dad.

Ahh, the dreaded Social Butterfly aspiration!

She does look like her father, but she definitely has Desiree's nose.

I really like this dress. I wish they had it in my size! Only, I'm a little busty so those buttons would definitely have to be fake or the panel would have to be sewn shut.

Anyway, that's totally off topic, moving on...

She wasn't cheating, but it was really amusing to see her point in that direction anyway. She really was just trying to show her sister something, but I think Chicory thought she was trying to cheat...

Chicory is such a sweetie, and she rubbed her Mom's belly! Then I realized I forgot how much I loved this interaction, and realized I haven't done it since generation two!

Finally, the last baby of generation nine is on the way!

It's another girl, and once again I did NOT use strawberries to get her! Her name is Cassia.

Since Cassia was the third born, that meant I could use the random generator to choose our last heiress.

The winner is Cinnamon! This makes me so happy since she was the first born and I had initially been contemplating choosing her automatically. Plus, I love her blue eyes.

Everyone in the house had been working on their aspirations, so not much happened since her birth, so soon Cassia is becoming a child.

Cassia takes after her Mom with her childhood personality of having a social type aspiration but the loner trait. Oh joy.

This outfit is totally adorable! I liked the red too with her red hair.

After what felt like forever, Desiree has maxed out her charisma skill and thus completed her Friend of the World aspiration!

Because she already has high fitness from working out randomly, I decided to give her Bodybuilder as her next aspiration.

Ginseng completed his Joke Star aspiration shortly after his wife completed her aspiration.

I chose Leader of the Pack as his next aspiration because honestly, if I use the family club and leave it at home I can invite purely family members and just leave it going for a long time.

Cinnamon has finally received an A in school, so she is finally on Artistic Prodigy.

Cinnamon draws so freaking slow because every single time she draws a picture she has to tell herself a story. However, she completed her aspiration right after this drawing was complete. Next, I'll have her do Rambunctious Scamp.

The best part about having a club at the home lot, is if I make cleaning and repairing a positive thing for the club, the members just randomly go around the house and do that. Marjoram here is repairing the broken stereo for us autonomously.

One Ginseng reached level 5 of charisma, he had completed Leader of the Pack. This was honestly probably one of the easiest aspirations I've ever completed. I gave him fabulously wealthy next because I barely have to do anything for that, it just takes a while to complete.

Desiree has reached maximum body potential. Now, she just needs to reach level 10 fitness skill, but she's only at level 7.

So Chicory's homework bugged when she was trying to do it, so it looked like she was trying to write on the table which I found absolutely hilarious.

Hm, I must not have gotten a picture of her completing her Social Butterfly aspiration, but she did and now she's also completed Rambunctious Scamp. I gave her Artistic Prodigy as her next aspiration.

I don't take enough pictures of the kids doing fun things. I'll have to be better about that in my next legacy.

Cinnamon has completed Rambunctious Scamp! Next, I had no choice but to give her Social Butterfly, but I don't think she'll have time to complete it.

It's time for Ginseng to become an adult!

He does look a little bit older, however he is still handsome looking. I can't get over how much he looks like his Dad, though.

It's also Cinnamon's teen birthday!

She looks so much like her Mom, but this hairstyle does not do her any justice.

Much better! A lot of sims have gotten this Dance Machine trait, but I rarely use it for anything. I'm not even sure what benefits the dance skill gives you.

Her first act as teenager was to clean up the trash because they were still in a club gathering because I had purchased almost all of the skilling bonuses so everyone skills faster when in the club gathering. I think I need to take advantage of this completely in my next legacy.

My husband really wanted to get Dine Out, so we did and I sent the family to dinner. Cinnamon doesn't look too happy that she was stuck at the table with her sisters because unfortunately the restaurant it asked me to place can't accomodate five sims at a table.

Meanwhile, Desiree wore her wedding dress out to the restaurant.

The girls all drew on their placemats while they waited for their space tacos to arrive.

So, this is really amusing and I'll explain why.

Cicely as you know is Ginseng's sister. But, what you don't know is that this red head boy is Gerald (who I accidentally called Garrett in a previous chapter) and he's the sim that helpd Burdock complete Social Butterfly as a child. He's also Desiree's brother! So it was amusing to see Ginseng's sister and Desiree's brother out to eat together.

Cicely had built a friendship with Gerald when she was a teen, because I had been hoping he'd age up around the same time as her and they could get married, but he was still a teen then.

While the family was enjoying their meal, their waitress died of old age.

Then, as everyone was finally situated after her death, another waitress died while the family was waiting on dessert. So, I just had them pay the bill and leave because now my whole family had sad moodlets.

My husband also wanted romantic garden stuff, so I sent the family to the new park and the two youngest girls played in the fountain.

This is where I'm going to end the chapter, so stay tuned for the next chapter! It's possible that the next chapter may end up being our last.

Until next time! xo
