Hello everyone and welcome back to Once Upon a Thyme! In the last chapter, we left off right after the last baby of generation five was born, and Rue was named as our generation five heiress!
While you can't tell from this picture, Rue actuall had the 'angry about new sibling' moodlet, but she still would repeatedly go talk to and coo at her baby sister, Rosemary.

"My Grandson is insulting me. I feel like I should be more angry, especially since I hate children, but for some reason, I'm just very focused."
That's because you're in the focus room.
Seriously, the mood rooms are the only place Cayenne can safely be around her Grandchildren. Though, being around Parsley that's not always the case because he's mean so he likes to randomly insult his family members.

"Since I hate children so much, I am going to go crush the dollhouse. It was left whole for far too long."

Rashawn was one promotion left from reaching the top of his career, and he came home and died in the driveway.

On the brightside, however, aliens have really cool tombstones.

Despite being a mean sim, Parsley didn't get the negative moodlet from meeting Rosemary. In fact, he also loved to go talk to her and coo at her.

Speaking of, it's now Rosemary's birthday! She grew up so terribly, the bassinet disappeared!
It did reappear later, however.

Rosemary does look quite a bit like her older brother, but I see some qualities that she shares with Rue as well.

I really liked the bright colored dress with her black hair. I felt like they complimented each other.

So, I had no idea that sims could autonomously help other sims with homework. That is, until Cayenne (who hates children, in case you forgot) autonomously started helping Rue with her homework.

Guys, look how cute Rue is! I just love her! I'm so glad that she is heiress, I would've been upset had it been anyone but her.

All three kids are good about doing their homework as soon as they get home from school. However, sometimes they forget to put it back in their inventory and then they don't get credit for doing it. This is frustrating and it happens far too often.

Laurence has been doing well in his career, and has finally reached the split and is following the musician path. Which, I'm sure you guys assumed he'd be doing anyway since his original aspiration was Musical Genius.

The family now has a piano as well, so Laurence has been spending most of his time writing jingles and doing other things on the piano.

This is the first time I've seen Laurel and Donald's ghosts out at the same time. I was hoping to see them flirt or do some kind of romantic interaction with each other, but they just talked a little and then possessed some items.

Parsley has now completed the Whiz Kid aspiration, meaning he's completed three of the four aspirations! I went ahead and gave him Social Butterfly but, he won't be able to complete it because Today is his birthday!

Some of the faces sims make when they blow out their birthday candles are pricless. I feel like he's going to be lightheaded because it looks like he's blowing harding than most. I wonder if Cayenne put trick candles on his cake?

That hair is terrible. And those clothes.

I kind of pictured Parsley as being one of those douchebag gym rats since he's mean and got the bodybuilder aspiration, so I tried to dress him as such.

I'm not gonna lie, because of his small nose I honestly felt Parsley was hideous. But now, looking back on it I guess he's grown on me because I don't find him nearly as ugly as I did before.

The next morning was Laurence's birthday, and the cake actually lasted the whole night without being eaten, then when I took it out of the fridge and put it on the table, while Laurence was on his way to put candles on the cake, Sage came over and grabbed a piece.

Minus the red hair, Laurence actually reminds me of my husband a little bit as far as looks go.

Like Rashawn, Cayenne was one promotion away from reaching the top of her career, but she died when she came home from work. In the same spot that Rashawn died.

I feel like Cayenne's death was a little harder on me than Juniper's death because I had spent more time working on Cayenne than I did Juniper as far as aspirations and other things.

Of course, everyone except Laurence was there to witness Cayenne's death. Sad moodlets for everyone!

It was really sad seeing Rosemary and Rue mope around like this. Granted, Rue is gloomy so she randomly mopes anyway, but this was different.

So far I've been able to catch everyone's death early enough that I can pause the game and use all of their aspiration points on moodlet solvers, so everyone in the house got a dose of moodlet solver to get rid of the exponentially long sad moodlet.
I mean, just look at Rosemary's face. Poor thing.

Thanks to the typing game, Rosemary has completed her aspiration of Rambunctious Scamp. I decided to give her Artistic Prodigy as her new aspiratin.

Now that Cayenne isn't around, the dollhouse actually stays built. I've lucked out and Parsley as a child has never destroyed it. Well, unless he destroyed it before Cayenne died and i just assumed it was her.
I'm sure it's also nice for Rue to have someone her own age to play dolls with. Because while I'm sure she had a blast playing dolls with her Mom, I'm sure it's more fun with someone her own age.

Rue kept forgetting her homework at home, so she was never getting the A that she needed in order to complete her Whiz Kid aspiration, but she FINALLY got it!
I chose Rambunctious Scamp as her new aspiration because somehow she glitched and learned her motor skills really fast. (Like as fast as a sim who studied physiology in TS2 and then studied body.)

Of course, it's no surprise that she finished this aspiration pretty quickly since she got credit for the high score and typing practice she did when waiting for the A for her previous aspiration.
Next, she'll work on the Artistic Prodigy aspiration.

Rosemary has finished the Artistic Prodigy aspiration. Now, she's going to do Whiz Kid.

Of course, it didn't take long for Rue to finish Artistic Prodigy either because she had maxed her creative skill as well while waiting for her A. (Seriously, that A took a really really really long time.)
I went ahead and switched her to Social Butterfly, but her birthday is soon so I'm sure she won't be able to finish it. Plus, we all know how I feel about that aspiration.

So, this disease looks a lot worse on sims with alien skintones than it does the regular flesh tones. It literally looks like Sage is going to die from it.

Our heiress has gone a little cross-eyed while trying to blow out her birthday candles!

Her age up was extra shiny, so I just had to get a picture of it!

I didn't take the time to give Rue her make-over yet, because it's also Sage's birthday and I wanted to age her up before someone tried to take a slice of cake.

What do you know, she grew up and magically was cured of her random illness.

I decided to keep some form of braid on Rue, it just seemed fitting! She added the 'snob' trait to her list of traits.
Of course, I won't be able to accomplish much of her aspiration until she becomes a Young Adult. So I'll just have to have her occupy her teen years with something else.

While I didn't specifically use the styled look, this is inspired by one of the pre-styled looks using this dress. I had originally wanted to use it on Sage, but I just felt the outfit I put her in previous looked better.

Rue still pulls some of the cutest faces. I really like her big eyes.

Parsley is seriously the least mean, mean sim I've had. He literally loves to randomly hug his little sister. Every single day when they get home from school, he hugs her. It's adorable really, and I think that's part of what made him grow on me.

But then he goes and destroys the dollhouse. As a teen, this has become one of his new favorite hobbies.

Working out has apparently become a family affair. For some reason, everyone followed Rue down here when she came down to work out.

A full family meal. Oh wait, Rue is missing.
That's because Parsley prepared the meal, but only prepared four servings and Rue was the last one into the kitchen, so she had to make an ice-cream cone instead.

Rosemary has completed the Whiz Kid aspiration as well. This means that all kids this generation completed THREE of the childhood aspirations. I feel accomplished.
I gave her Social Butterfly since it's all that was left, but it's almost her birthday, and she's a spare, so we'll just forget about doing that.

I still have Sage dig for fossils and things since she has the appraisal trait, and she's found them all! This makes the second collection the family has completed. The first one being the Easter eggs, of course.

Time for Rosemary to become a teenager!

I think Rosemary looks the most like Sage and Cayenne. Her aspiration and traits actually kinda go together.

This is literally what I came out of Change Appearance to see: Rosemary and Juniper making some of the most hilarious faces because the sink is broken and so there is water all over the floor.
Ironically, I think Juniper is the one who broke the sink.

I wanted to stick with the braid and flower dress like I had given her as a child, this was the result.

Here's the comparison shot of this generation, they all look so different from each other, and I love the variety. Though, it would've been nice to see someone with the blue skin.

Ugh. I hate when my sims do this.
Does anyone else have a problem where instead of SLEEPING in their beds when their energy is low, they just take a nap instead? Is there a way to fix this? It's annoying.

I was trying to complete the elements collection, so I sent Sage to Sixam (which I just realized Today is 'maxis' backward) to try to get some metals and crystals that hopefully have the missing elements.
Hopefully she doesn't crash since she has NO rocket science skill.

And success! The table of elements is now complete!

So I didn't realize this at first, but the dress that Rosemary has on is a skater dress, so it has those criss-cross straps, and I like the way they frame her braid. Though, if this were me in real life, and I could actually pull a dress like this off, I would probably be super uncomfortable with my braid rubbing against my back.

Today is Parsley's birthday! If you notice, he's gotten very muscular. I had been working on his bodybuilder aspiration because both girls are at the point in their aspirations where they need to become an adult to move on.

As a young adult, Parsley gained more muscle mass (I'm not sure how that's possible since he was already at "maximum body potential" but okay.)
He added Self-Assured to his list of traits.

I sent him to the gym to meet a possible spouse, and sure enough there's the Grim Reaper working out as usual. I don't think I've ever gone to a community lot, other than the library and pool, in this save without seeing the Grim Reaper.

I gave Parsley the incredibly friendly trait to build his relationships a little faster since he's mean, and these were the three possible candidates.
I was originally planning to leave him at home and play him through, so I was hoping he would get abducted just for fun, but I decided later that the game was running to slow so I wanted him to move out.

I merged him with Marlene Barber, the alien with the brighter blue skin. And after motherloding them a bit, they bought this expensive house down the street from Parsley's family.

After getting her in the mirror, I notice that Marlene isn't quite as pretty as I had initially thought she was.
I left the aqua eyeliner she had and just added the lipstick and the white eyeshadow.

Luckily, the two built their relationship quickly. I was a little worried at first because they're both mean and Marlene is also evil.

Soon, Parsley was proposing to Marlene in their pretty yard.
Also, this dress makes her butt look huge.

They promptly eloped in their pretty wedding attire, and Parsley took that time to investigate his ring. I guess he was checking to make sure it was real? But they're rich, so I'm not sure why it would be fake.

Marlene and Parsley had woohoo'd before the engagement/elopement, but I waited until after the ceremony for the pregnancy test, and she's successfully pregnant!

Though, he initially seemed upset, Parsley actually ended up being thrilled about the pregnancy. I guess he's excited about the prospect of a mischievous child.

I didn't think about making her go inside when I used the cheat to speed her pregnancy up, so Marlene ended up going into labor outside.

Despite his odd place of delivery, baby boy Fennel was welcomed into the world.

Fennel got the evil trait. But, he's really adorable and I think I succeeded in giving him a sort of evil appearance.

We'll leave this family to share their meal together while Parsley gives me a very creepy look.
That's where I'm also going to leave this chapter. Stay tuned to the next chapter to hopefully see generation six be brought into the world!
Until next time! xo
