Hello everyone and welcome back to Once Upon a Thyme! In the last chapter, we left off with Judd's alien daughter heading off to space to check out what could have been her homeland, and to maybe meet some fellow aliens other than her brother-in-law.

Allen Green is the first male alien she sees. They hit it off right away, however, since Chive is a serial romantic I don't plan on having them get married. He's an elder anyway and will be dying soon.

It took forever for Allen to show up on her available sims to invite over. I guess they have to be visiting the regular sim world on their own for them to show up.

While he was visiting, Chive and Allen shared a woohoo together and now Chive is now pregnant! She'll have another 100% alien baby, and I'm interested to see which skin color he gets.

I almost feel like this was cheating, but the last part of Sage's aspiration requires you to get 25 collectables and since plants count, she harvested some of her Dad's plants from their vacation and since each individual item coming from the plant counted, she was done very quickly!
I decided to try Fabulously Wealthy again since I don't like failing and I failed it on Juniper.
It's odd that collectible and collectable are both correct. I even looked it up to make sure. Even though apparently 'collectible' is used more commonly.

So I almost didn't notice this in time but Cayenne's Successful Lineage aspiration has a part where it requires one of her children to max their aspiration, and I didn't realize that Sage's completion didn't count. When I hovered over it, sure enough it said CHILDHOOD aspiration.
At this point, Cumin was her last child and Today is his birthday so I was immediately panicked, I had no idea what I was going to do. So, I looked at his aspiration panel, and apparently since he played horseshoes so much when on vacation he was at 9 out of 10 motor skill and everything else was completed except the high score on the typing game. Wow, a kid that pretty much did his own aspiration, I like this.
With only a few hours to spare before he grew up into a teenager on his own, Cumin completed his aspiration and Cayenne got more progress towards her second aspiration.

After the craziness was finished, Cumin was able to finally head to his birthday cake and become a teenager!

Why so sad Cumin?
"This scarf, it's messy. It doesn't make me look neat. My hair isn't neat. There are dirty dishes. And.."
Let's take care of one problem at a time okay? To the mirror with you!

So while I'm not sure his new look works well with his aspiration, I think it works with his neat trait. (I'll miss having him in the house, he usually helps keep it clean.)

Yeah, I think I made him a little too neat. Oh well, it works for him. I was sad there was no bow-tie for him though.

As promised, here's a side by side.
Honestly, I was amazed at the diversity when I saw their pictures next to each other like this. I felt like they all looked identical until seeing this, and now I'm really pleased with this generation.
I didn't realize that Cayenne had gotten her eye spacing from Laurel until I noticed the eye spacing on Cumin! Cumin definitely looks the most like our founder at this point.

After a total of 30 hours of sleeping in a tent spread out over five different sim days, Rashawn has finally completed this tier of his aspiration.
Now, to work on his herbalism skill so he can finish his aspiration.

Clearly Cayenne is having a hard time. She kept wanting to just take naps and so her energy bar was always depleted.

Chive should be going into labor at any moment, and she's the only one home. So, I clicked on the TV and chose the option "Watch Movie" so she could pick the movie, and she picked a space themed movie which I found to be ironic and hilarious.

Unfortunately, she went into labor and didn't get to finish the movie (I usually click 'have baby' as opposed to waiting the three hours if their needs aren't low. If their needs are low, I use the three hours to work on their other needs a bit.)

Anyway, meet baby boy Dill with his Dad's purple skin!

For some reason, he was invisible at first so I never got a picture of him as a full alien, but here he is after a make over.
And it just figures that someone who isn't one of the kids I have to play would get an aspiration other than Social Butterfly.

Oh look, it looks like he was blessed with the ever changing eyebrow color just like his mother.

I quickly moved the pair out and into a two bedroom home I downloaded from the Gallery.
The creator is mullemaus2002 if you're interested in downloading it for yourself.

It's actually the perfect house for a single mother and her son, I like it.
But, we'll leave these two here. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of them, and I'm sure once Dill becomes a teen he'll be back into his alien get-up with no hair or eyebrows.

I had to buy a grill for Rashawn to brew his herbal remedies on because it kept glitching on the stove. But, after hours of incessant brewing, Rashawn has maxed his herbalism skill and as a result he has completed his aspiration!
Since he came into the family with a high paying job, I picked fabulously wealthy for him as well. I am determined to complete this aspiration!

Sage becomes a young adult Tomorrow, and she needs to find herself a spouse. The first place we check is the park where we run into Dill. Sage immediately ran over to him so she could give him a hug. She gave him like five before I finally decided to send her elsewhere.

We also ran into Cilantro who has joined his big brother in being an elder.

"My birthday is Tomorrow, better find me a man! #OnTheHunt #HopeHesCute"

After several lots, we never found any sims that weren't too old or too young, so I finally decided to put some legacy loves into the game. I didn't put very many since I'll just have to replace them in a generation anyway since I leave aging on.
Anyway, right away Sage runs into Laurence Allendale, a sim my husband actually made several months ago when he was considering getting into the game and making a legacy.

Does anyone else run into the Grim Reaper on like EVERY SINGLE LOT? I'm actually amused by it, but it's still weird. He was literally on the toilet the entire time I was on the lot. He never moved. It's like he wanted sims to go into bladder failure.

Once she had built a decent relationship with Laurence, Sage headed home to go to bed.
The next morning, she came downstairs to find that pink birthday cake she wanted on her last birthday!

I don't notice much of a difference in her genetics, but now her new trait is 'snob' just like her younger brother. It's actually not that bad of a trait, and she gets random confidence boosts whenever she's in the same room as Coriander.

She immediately invites Laurence over, and their share their very first kiss.

After becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, they take a selfie to commemorate the moment.

I then sent the two on a date to the Surf ruins place in Windenberg where they went skinning dipping.

They're actually one of my cutest couples I think. They give each other love autonomously more than any couple I've had in my game in the past.
I had them get engaged in front of the bush with the bleeding heart flowers, which is actually one of my favorite plants. I haven't seen them in Florida, but my Grandparents had them at their house in Ohio.

When Sage arrives back home after her date, I had planned to move Laurence in so she invited him over.
Then my game moves to the location where Judd is, and I realize he's dying.

What's even more sad is the fact that he died in the EXACT same spot that his wife, Juniper, died. And just like with Juniper, the entire family (plus Laurence) was there to witness his death.

I swore I took a picture of her asking him to move in, but I guess not.
Anyway, Sage had enough happy buffs to overpower her sad buff so I had her move Laurence in right away.
What an interesting combination of traits we have here. They go together, of course, but I feel like the gloomy trait only works with painting. I think originally he had planned to give him the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration but changed his mind or something. I'm not sure.
If you're interested in downloading Laurence, my gallery page is MeadowThayerr with two Rs and he's one of my first uploads that's available. My husband for a while was uploading every sim he created, lol.

I changed his everyday clothes and part of his swimwear (my husband put a swimcap on him, what?!) but I made sure I dressed him in a style that my husband would have chosen. (My husband actually has a shirt similar to this.)
My husband says he approves! (Not that it would've mattered anyway, he's in my legacy family now, lol.)

I actually had originally planned to throw these guys a wedding party, but with everyone in the house being sad I decided to just send Laurence and Sage to a community lot to get married.
But regardless, they had a beautiful, private and intimate wedding under a beautiful purple tree.

I swear I meant to change her formal wear, but I actually think the pink suits her.

When Laurence and Sage arrived back home to the house, we find every single sim that was left home on free will 'crying it out' in a bed.
From left to right we have Rashawn, Coriander, and Cumin.

And alone in her own bed, we have Cayenne.

But now they have something to celebrate at least because Sage is now pregnant with the first baby of generation five! I can't believe I'm already almost half way done with this legacy, holy crap I've been playing fast.
In hindsight, I wish I had waited until the spares were out to have her get pregnant since now unless Rashawn or Cayenne die, I won't be able to have the boys move a spouse in and have a child. So, I may end up having to do something a little different this generation.

"Laurence, I'm pregnant! We're going to be parents!"
"But we just got married! Why? I'm not ready to be a father!"
Oh Laurence, it looks like you'll fit right in with the men around here.

I really wanted the writing computer for the inspiration room, so I had Sage take a job in the writer career field.
I don't remember if his aspiration needs it or not, but I had Laurence take a job in the entertainment field with hopes of him completing the music branch.
It looks like the inspired room will finally get some screen time!

Hey, Miss Maid, I don't remember your name but mopping that isn't going to do any good, the sink is broken. There will be a new puddle there shortly.
"It's my job. I must mop this puddle for at least an hour before I move on to the next part of the house that needs cleaned."
Right. Okay.

So Rashawn's kleptomaniac trait hasn't been very interesting. He usually steals dirty dishes from work (like really?) or for a while there he stole a few books and some sports posters. But Today, he stole a rooster that I decided to place in the kitchen even though it doesn't match whatsoever.
Coriander is a little more interesting with his klepto trait and steals childrens books from his high school (don't ask) and a few posters with a giant high heel on it.

"Grandpa! It's so good to see you! Guess what? I'm pregnant! You're gonna be a Great-Grandpa! Well...you would have been..."
"Oh Sage, that's so exciting. And don't you worry, I'll come to visit all the time. Maybe I'll even paint you some masterpieces to help with that aspiration of yours. I love you, sweet girl."
D'awww.

Since Sage has the appraiser trait from her completed Curator aspiration, she can sell the things she digs up for quite a bit more money, so whenever I notice that the nodes are back up on their lot, I try to send her over to dig. Though, it doesn't look like it's very comfortable to do while pregnant.

Say goodbye to the two family pets. They really weren't that interesting, and since they were worth a decent amount before using her appraisal trait on them, I was sure they'd sell for a pretty penny.
I was right too, they both sold for over $1000.

Since Sage had a few days off, I had her use a bunch of moodlet resolver potions so she could continue to build her writing skill for her job.
I have no idea why she felt the need to walk all the way from the chair she was sitting in, in the inspiration room to the focus room on the other side of the house, but she did.

Soon, she went into labor and decided to have some macaroni and cheese that Juniper had just made? Okay, makes sense to me.

After her meal, she headed upstairs to the bassinet to give birth to the first baby of generation five!

It's a baby boy! He has his father's skintone, but other than that we can't tell much about him yet. His name is Parsley!
We'll leave the chapter here! Stay tuned to see Parsley grow up and hopefully get some siblings soon. If you have any suggestions on things to do for spares please let me know. I was trying to avoid mods and CC in the game since I got so bad about it in TS2 but I am considering trying out the Story Progression mod that Abby from BoolProp has suggested to me!
Until next time! xo
