Hello everyone and welcome back to Once Upon a Thyme! In the last chapter, we left off shortly after the first child of generation four became a child!
Cayenne, I'm not entirely sure why you seem so excited. First, your cute slippers are getting soaked from the puddles on the ground and it looks like you're shooting confetti from your head.
"I'm pregnant again, that's why I'm excited!"
But you hate children.
"Well, as you pointed out, I don't hate my own. And I don't get tense because I'm carefree. So, I guess I kind of like my own children and being pregnant. But, I am going to continue to destroy that AWFUL dollhouse. I'd be tense from being in that room if I weren't so carefree."

"Rashawn, I'm pregnant again!"
"But why, you hate children?"
Rashawn, just go with it. Trust me, I just asked the same question.

I love how happy Juniper and Judd still are. I find them autonomously loving each other all the time and it's adorable.

"CAYENNE IS HULK. HULK DESTROY."
Oh really now?

Ha! I made you repair it, that's what you get.
However, she gets a happy moodlet from destroying it called "homewrecker" and I find this to be incredibly amusing.

Judd has completed his Nerd Brain aspiration and so now he'll be more handy around the house, this is fantastic news because I'm tired of everything breaking.
To get the family a decent sized nest egg so I can decorate the house a little more, I gave Judd the painter extraordinaire aspiration.

Cayenne also completed her aspiration at literally the exact same time as her father.
Her new aspiration is Successful Lineage. Which, is mostly just out of spite because she hates children.

I am grateful that she doesn't hate her own children though, it makes moments like these much sweeter since she's not yelling at Sage like she does her half-sister.

Thanks to the carefree trait as well, Cayenne is able to read to her daughter without being tense from being around kids toys. Though, she did get angry at one point because Chive came in to play with the toys.

Don't do it Cayenne, you'll just have to repair it.

Soon the time comes for the second baby of generation four to be born! I'm hoping for twins, since this family hasn't seen any yet.

It's a single birth however.
Meet baby boy Coriander!

So I had to take a picture of this glitch because it was highly amusing. I guess Laurel's ghost queued up an interaction for Coriander at the same time that Cayenne was placing him back in his crib, and somehow Laurel was able to pick him up before Cayenne had finished laying him down, and for a brief moment there appeared to be TWO of Coriander.

Cayenne is now pregnant with the last baby of the generation. Which means, it's almost time to find out who our generation four heir is!

As usual, Cayenne is thrilled about her pregnancy and Rashawn is not. I really wish that the reactions were different based on personality. I feel like Cayenne should be unhappy about her pregnancy but Rashaw should be thrilled.

It looks like all Rashawn was interested at that point was making out with his wife on their bed.

It's probably pretty interesting to be relatively the same age as your Aunt. Sage and Chive get along really well, and I'll be kind of sad when Chive becomes a teenager.

Coriander is a child now, and I felt like his infant days went by quicker than normal, but I assure you, they did not.

Much to my dismay, Coriander also got the social butterfly trait. This is getting to be ridiculous. I'm so over it.
And he got the trait kleptomaniac just like his father.

Apparently, while I was giving him his make over, Cayenne destroyed the dollhouse because when the game loaded after the make-over, Coriander went right over and started bawling because the doll house was destroyed.

Chive's teen birthday has arrived, and her father was there to witness her grow up.

Since she's 100% alien, she grew up back into her alien clothes with no hair or eyebrows.

Chive grew up into a beautiful teenager though and traded her little girl pigtails for more mature ones.
I also decided to play around with some of the eyeshadows to give her a more 'alien' look. I really like how it turned out.

And even more exciting is that her eyebrows have stayed the correct color!

Juniper has reached the top of the Business career, she had gone down the investor career, and is now an Angel Investor.
She is the first sim in my game to complete a job path, this is a little ridiculous how long it takes.

Now that her half-sister is no longer a child, Cayenne and Chive can finally talk and get along again.

But their conversation is soon interrupted when Cayenne goes into labor.

And it's another baby boy! His name is Cumin.
Now that the last baby of generation four is here, it's time to roll to see who is going to be our heir/ess!

And the winner is Sage!
It's actually pretty amusing to me that she won, because I originally considered making this a matriarch but changed my mind and decided to do the random heir thing, but so far every heir has been female!

This family pretty much lives on ice cream now. Whenever they're hungry, the first thing they go to eat is ice cream. I'm not sure that's very healthy, but okay.
But I have to say, I love seeing the brain freeze. It's amusing to me.

Cumin is now a child!

Finally an aspiration that's NOT Social Butterfly.
I tried to give him a look that was as neat as possible to fit his aspiration, and i actually really like it on him.

See? Isn't he adorable with his little bow tie?!

So for the first time ever in my game, the entire household was present for a death. (Cumin is practically inside of Judd, if you can't see him.) Even Laurel was present for the death of her daughter, which is both sweet and sad. It's like she was there to welcome her to the afterlife.
This really upset me because Juniper was the first sim in this legacy that I raised from birth to death.

I knew Juniper was going to be passing soon, so I had been waiting to work on Rashawn's aspiration until after her passing.
I decided to send the whole family along with Rashawn so that they could relax a little. I felt that after Juniper's passing they needed to get away for a bit.
Of course, they moped around for the first day of the vacation.

Rashawn spent the first few days of his vacation harvesting unidentified plants as well as other herbs since I know some of them are needed for herbalism.

He also spent some time fishing.

The rest of the family finally stopped moping and played horseshoes, and cloudgazed.

During the vacation, Rashawn celebrated his adult birthday. He looks exactly the same, so I didn't bother taking a picture after he grew up.

Sage also finished her Social Butterfly aspiration while on the vacation just by talking to her family members. I gave her rambunctious scamp as her secondary aspiration, but it's almost her birthday so I'm sure she won't finish it.

"I wanted a pink cake Mom. My favorite color is pink. Why didn't you make me a pink cake? I am very dissatisfield with this brown cake."
"Just blow out the candles, Sage."

"Fine, but I'm not going to be happy about it."

"I'm a teenager, oh yeah!"
Oh my, those eyebrows are terrible. They look like a thin line...

After a make-over, Sage looks fantastic! Of course, she got the aspiration I was dreading, but I realized I've done it before in the Cavanaugh legacy. For some reason, I guess I was thinking that she had to complete ALL of the collections.

I originally had a cute dress picked out for her but after seeing her aspiration, I decided jeans would be a better choice since she'll be on her knees digging in rocks and things.

Rashawn is at the point in his aspiration where he needs to befriend the Hermit, so I quickly sent him to the Bramble Patch that leads to his/her house.

I'm not sure how, but just by meeting the hermit Rashawn got completion for befriending her. A glitch, I'm sure. But oh well.

Since they still have a few days left of their vacation, I had Sage get started on her own aspiration and begin looking for collectables.

Since the vacation was seven days, there were a lot of birthdays on the vacation lot. The next birthday that was celebrated is Cayenne's adult birthday.
Just like her husband, she looks exactly the same so I didn't take a post-birthday picture.

Back at home, I finally decided to put that home theatre in the basement.
I used the pre-styled porch that came with the stuff pack and then I just removed the fence and turned it into a room. It's rather nice, I think.

Rashawn and Cayenne were the first two to try it out. They watched a scary movie while cuddling on the couch.

Our first Juniper sighting! Hello, Juniper!
"Why is my husband still alive, he's older than I was?"
Because he has the Long Lived trait.
"Oh right. I'll just have to keep him company here then."

I was a little worried about the sleeping in the tent aspect of Rashawn's aspiration after seeing a friend of mine attempt it. However, after reading the tooltip under his aspiration window, I only have to dedicate six hours of sleep each time to get it to count, awesome. That's not too bad.

It was only a matter of time before Cayenne was abducted by aliens, after all she did marry one.

While I had Sage out looking for collectibles for her aspiration, we ran into Ancho who is dressed in his formal gear.

Not too far behind him was Cardamom, who was also dressed in formal wear. I wonder what these two are up to?

When I sent Sage to a community park to look for collectibles, we also ran into the Grim Reaper. It appears he's decided to play chess on community lots now instead of working out at the gym.

Sage also ran into her Uncle Basil who is now an elder.
At this point, it occured to me that I never included a side by side comparison of the three kids from last generation, oops. I'll make sure to do it for this generation though.

Back at home, Chive is becoming a young adult. However, the game wouldn't let me pause for some reason so this is the best picture I could get.
Chive added ambitious to her list of traits.

That same day was also Coriander's teen birthday, and I was actually able to add the candles to Chive's cake before anyone took a piece.

After aging up, Coriander just looks like he's going to have an attitude problem.

And I was right, he's a snob. Though, I've never played a sim with the 'snob' trait, I'm interested to see how it pans out.

I figured since he's a snob, that he'd dress fairly nice to make it seem like he's better than everyone else, so this is the look I came up with. I'm not entirely sure if I'm happy with it or not though, but he's a spare so it'll work.

I decided since Chive was an alien, it was time for her to visit the alien planet to get an idea of what could have been. Who knows, maybe she'll meet a boyfriend while she's there? I don't plan to marry her off as she's a Serial Romantic, I just don't think that would fit with her aspiration.
We'll leave the chapter here! Stay tuned to see if Chive finds herself a suitor, and if Rashawn and Sage finish their aspirations!
Until next time! xo
