Hello everyone and welcome back to Once Upon a Thyme! In the last chapter, we left off shortly after Cayenne, the third child of generation three and also our new heiress, became a child.
Since the only two people Judd has at home to mentor are his wife and his eldest son, it's starting to be a pain. So, one day when he was off work I decided to send him down to the gym and have him mentor some of the people there.
It worked pretty well most of the time, but the problem was that he had to introduce himself first and sometime when he'd do that they'd stop working out, and thus he couldn't mentor them.

The gym is also the Grim Reaper's favorite hangout because we found him here again, but this time he was boxing.

When he arrived home from the gym, Juniper came out and started kissing him.
Unfortunately for Cilantro, he was there to witness this and he doesn't seem very happy about it, does he?

Even though Cilantro hated his sister as a baby, they actually get along wonderfully now.
Since they both have the social butterfly aspiration, I decided to let them work on it Together, though I'll probably only finish it entirely for Cayenne.

This lovely illness here is a favorite of the Thyme family as you will see next chapter especially.
Luckily, after a bottle of medicine Basil is all better.

I sent Cayenne to the park to work on the next part of her aspiration, and who do we see other than insane Paprika moonlighting as a park hobo while telling stories to herself in the bathroom. (I didn't get a picture of it unfortunately, but I noticed her doing it when I went to go take this picture.)
Later, I looked at the family tree and noticed that her husband had died from old age, (I swear these other sims age faster than the ones in the house) so maybe that's why. I guess being alone with her evil son in such a huge house made her more insane than she already is.

Ancho was also at the park, and was one of the only children there so he will have to become friends with Cayenne for her aspiration. Which, if he's anything like his mother, is going to be difficult because he may just randomly start yelling at Cayenne.

A little later, we also ran into Turmeric, who has become a teenager now (I have aging on, remember.) I have to say, he definitely did get his Mom and Grandfather's lips. But at least his clothes match.

Back at home the next evening, Cilantro's turn to become a teenager arrived and he actually had people in attendance!
While I'm glad the sims don't go crazy and ruin my pictures like they did sometimes in the sims two, I do miss the whole house coming to celebrate.

Cilantro, you don't look happy about being a teenager, what's wrong?
"I have a fever. My head hurts. I'm miserable"
Go buy some medicine, it'll make it all better.

I originally was going to change his hair, but I decided to leave it on him. I actually left some of the clothes he grew up in on him as well because they weren't terrible.
He definitely has the eyeshape from Laurel, but I think his older brother is WAY cuter than him.
I'm kind of glad that he's not the heir with his aspiration since I feel like it would take forever.

The only thing I changed was his shoes, and are you surprised that I gave him TOMS? No? I guess you guys are getting used to my insane obsession with TOMS on my sims. Very well, moving on then.

It looks like I was right about Ancho. He's been very hard to get Cayenne to befriend because in the middle of a conversation, he'll stop just to yell at her.

Now that all three are teenagers, the boys have begun bring Turmeric home from school again. They always do their homework first thing, and a lot of times Turmeric leaves right after, which is odd, but hey whatever.

Oh look, Cayenne has the same illness that Basil had earlier. I told you this has become a family favorite.

I didn't get a picture of it in time, because I was trying to get Cilantro to open his eyes, but when they arrived home from school both boys had their cell phones out. Which is totally true to most teenagers these days.
Heck, I'm not a teenager and I have mine out most of the time too.

Juniper has finally reached the promotion at the split of the business career. She decided to follow the Angel Investor Branch because the first level made more money and she still needs to make a lot more money for her aspiration.

It's also Juniper's birthday. I forgot to take a picture of her afterwards, but she pretty much looks the same. I really didn't see any change.

Meet Shayne, the sims that completed Cayenne's Social Butterfly aspiration!
I decided to choose Rambunctious Scamp for her next one because she already has a bit of motor skill from playing with her brothers on their jungle gym and playing with the kids at the park on it as well.

Judd has reached maximum body potential and completed his aspiration. It looks like he'll be staying around for a long time now thanks to the long lived trait.
I picked Nerd Brain for his aspiration so he can help repair and upgrade everything so the ghosts will quit breaking it.

I can't believe it's already time for Basil to become a Young Adult!
Also, his cake was supposed to be white, but he made it himself and he has low cooking so this was the result.

He's still as handsome as ever! He's really one of my favorite sims I've had born into my game.

Since Cayenne still has a long time before becoming a young adult, I have time to work on the spares early this time.
This is Leigh Short, Basil is in the same club as her, and I found her to be very pretty so I decided why not?

They hit it off really well! I love how cute they are!

So at this point, I started feeling very guilty.
Basil asked Leigh to move in with him, and I already knew she was a playable, and so I didn't think anything of moving her out of her existing household.
Until she got the sad debuff from her family oriented trait. So I check her relationships with the sims that she was living with, and it turns out they are her son and her daughter. Oops! I took her away from her kids!

But, alas, this is still the legacy house and I can't exit without saving so I just went with it. I'll make things right with her kids later.

Since she had two kids (they're teen/ya) I gave her a more sophisticated look.

"Leigh, I'm sorry I took you away from your kids. I never meant to do that. Will you marry me, and allow me to be the step-father to your two beautiful children?"
"YES! I love you Basil, and my kids don't have a father and I just know they'll love you"

Then they eloped on the driveway. Cool stuff. I'm terrible at this wedding thing. Sorry.

In what has become the community woohooing bed until Cayenne becomes an adult, the couple share their very first woohoo together.

Which results in Leigh becoming pregnant!
Ironically, Judd used to follow Juniper into the bathroom right after woohoo. It's like they knew that their wives were about to take a pregnancy test and they wanted to be there for moral support.

Cayenne has completed another aspiration! I picked Whiz Kid as the next one, though in hindsight I probably should have picked Artistic Prodigy.

Can we all just take a moment to look at how big Judd's arms and pectoral muscles are? Like I know that reach maximum body potential means to get the maximum muscle mass, but dang!

With Cayenne's teen birthday, I decided to try the 'taste frosting' feature of growing her up. It was a little anticlimactic.

Unlike her brothers, she grew up into terrible hair and clothing.
To the mirror with you. Immediately.

I couldn't get the color glasses I wanted for her in the style I liked, so I left them off. But I'm really pleased with how Cayenne turned out. I think she's beautiful.
I'm interested to see how the materialistic trait plays out. It says they become tense if they don't purchase new items, so that should be interesting...maybe...

I really like her outfit. I wanted mint green glasses, but the only ones were the large framed ones that are cute, but they looked odd with her face structure.
Also, you may have noticed that I use sunflowers a lot in my sims homes. I've never really explained why, so I will now.
My Grandmother was one of the most important people in my life, even though we didn't always get along. When she died in August 2012, everyone talked about how much she loved sunflowers. I always knew she liked sunflowers, but after her death every time I see a sunflower, I remember her and how sunny her personality was. She was the type of person that even when she was sick or tired, if there was someone she knew who was sick, or was having a birthday, etc., she would bake them some cookies, or a pie, and she'd go out of her way to make sure they knew how loved they were. And I admire her tremendously for this. My Mom was a single Mom and so she took a lot of jobs where I had to stay with my Grandparents growing up, so I became very close to them. When we moved to Florida, we lived 5 houses apart from the time I was 11 until when I moved out at 19. She was my biggest fan and I miss her and my Grandfather every single day.
Anyway, enough with the sad/sappy.

...or not.
Leigh never met Donald or Laurel, but she is constantly found at their graves whenever she has free will which gives her a sad moodlet. Luckily, her happy moodlet from her pregnancy, engagement and marriage were more powerful.

Oh look, it's Ancho glaring evily at his cousins. Nice. I actually think he's way cuter than Turmeric is though.

Since Judd needs a rocket for his aspiration anyway, and I've been dying to check out Sixam, I have Cayenne work on upgrading her rocket in her free time, which she has a lot of lately. She's at the part in her aspiration that requires her to become an adult and reach level three of the tech guru career field.

Why so sad, Cayenne?
"I'm not sad I'm tense. I want more things. You don't buy enough things. Why can't I have more things?!"
Because we need to save some of the money for your Mom's aspiration.
"Grrr. I guess I'll just be tense all the time."
Hmm, nope. That's not an option either. I just bought you the carefree trait that causes you to never be tense. You're welcome.

"Woe is me! I'm tense from work. I'm sad from mourning at the graves. Oh, and I just went into labor."

After I fixed a few of her moodlets from needing to use the bathroom and such, she went upstairs to deliver her baby. Technically, the first baby of generation four, however since it's a spares child it does not count!

It's a baby boy! His name is Chervil which is a spice that is commonly used in Russia and Europe.

Juniper, Judd, and Cilantro were so excited about Basil's new baby that they decided to merge themselves into one weird looking being.
Can you guys give the little guy some space? He was just born, and he needs to become a child so he can move out with Basil and Leigh.

"Yes finally! No more crazy people crowding my crib!"
I feel you there, Chervil. It took me a while to get everyone out of your room.

Despite the serious bags under his eyes, I find Chervil really cute.

Since he got the insider trait, I dressed him in one of the outfits that came with Get Together.

After merging Basil, Leigh, and Chervil back into the same household as Leigh's other two children, I had them move into this cute little four bedroom house together.

Despite Leigh's eldest child, Arianna, being older than Basil, I think these guys are going to be quite happy with their new mixed family.

Meanwhile, back at the main home Cayenne has finished doing most of the upgrades that she can with level seven rocket science.
Part of Judd's aspiration right now requires that he either upgrade or launch the rocket 5 times. Since I wanted Cayenne to get the skill points from upgrading, I had him just launch it.

On his first trip, he brought us this nice dead squid. Hm, okay then. I then added it to Juniper's inventory and sold it so she would get progress towards her Fabulously Wealthy aspiration.

Oh boy. Even sims have to do the duckface in their selfies.
"What? It's cool."
It's really not, but okay.

It's time for Cilantro's young adult birthday now.

His face got a little longer, and his shoulders a little broader, but other than that I think he looks exactly the same.
He added the trait 'bro' to his other traits.

He also has a girlfriend now. Her name is Giselle, and I find her to be very pretty.
However, it doesn't look like Juniper quite approves of them having their first kiss in front of the front door. She glared at them like this on her way back in as well.

I think Giselle is stunning. I'm glad she's a spares wife though with that aspiration.

With a slightly more romantic place for a proposal than his brother, Cilantro proposed to Giselle who glady accepted his proposal.
I'm feeling pretty good about myself at this point because so far I've not had any rejected proposals. -knocks on wood-

Then they were married right there in the foyer. Again, only slightly romantic than where Basil was married.

And they successfully conceived on their first try! You can tell that Cilantro isn't too happy about the news of the pregnancy though.

At the point Cayenne is at with her rocket science, she needs to go on a few launches to improve her skill, so I sent her off to explore space.

When she got back, she decided that she would just hang out here in the nude. Then do her homework in the nude. And go hug her father and her brother, all while nude. This repeated after most of her explorations.

Due to a bad choice on one of the interactions, Judd ended up crash landing the rocket. Luckily, he was okay just a little dazed.

It's a good thing he was okay too, because a few days later it's time for his elder birthday!

I tried to change his outfit and hair, but nothing else looked right on him so I just kept him as is. As you can tell, old age did not take away any of his muscle mass and he's got to be one of the most fit elders I've ever seen.

This is the family pet, Pinkie. Named such because it's supposed to be a live pink whale. Though, I personally think she looks more blue.

Giselle is now going into labor, and soon the house will be just Juniper, Judd, and Cayenne.

Giselle and Cilantro are now proud parents of a baby girl named Cardamom.

As is routine, she was aged up immediately after her birth. I was hoping she'd get her Mom's hair color, but oh well.

Holy crap, she is SO cute. I love her so much.

I had her wear boots similar to her mother because I thought it would be cute.

The trio moved out and into this cute little maxis made house down the street from Cilantro's Aunt Ginger.

They all seem pretty happy about their lives, so we'll just leave them be.
Unfortunately, that's also where we'll leave this chapter. I hope all of you are having a wonderful Easter, and I hope to have chapter six ready by the middle of the week!
Until next time! xo
