Once Upon a Thyme: Chapter Four

Hello everyone and welcome back to Once Upon a Thyme! In the last chapter, we left off with the birth of Basil, the first baby of generation three. Shortly before he was born, our founder Laurel passed away.

Laurel's death seemed to hit Ginger the hardest, who always wanted to water what few plants the family has again with her tears (which I only have to get that last darn Easter egg.) She would roll up the whim to 'water plants with tears' several times a day.

Oh look, we have two llamapegacorns* walking around outside of our house. Oh wait, that's just Paprika and Judd since they're both at the same level of the Athletic career.

*Credit for this name goes to Taube/Roxy who pointed out that since they have wings they should be a llamapegacorn, and I agree with her and I love the word she coined, so props to Roxy! :) Seriously, she's the best you guys should go read her Gregory Legacy.

Ginger somehow was pretty chubby, so I had her buy a lean potion.

Wow, it really does make them extremely thin. A happy medium between the two would have been nice, but this will do.

I finally figured out what I want to do with my spares, so Ginger here has started to woo (or maybe be wooed) by Gael Painter, the teen she met at the park when she was out fishing. This is one reason I like having aging on, because then the sims they meet when they're a certain age, grow up with them!

I'd say that they're hitting it off pretty well, because soon they're sharing their very first kiss and becoming boyfriend and girlfriend in the kitchen corner.

Soon they're sharing their first woohoo in Ginger's deceased Grandparents' bed.

What? There's only two double beds and one of them belongs to her parents. Obviously, they're still using it because they're very much alive...

They weren't very careful however, and Ginger finds out that she's expecting!

I wonder how Gael will react to the news?

"Hey Gael, I see you're playing with my nephew, I assume that means you like babies. That's good, because I'm pregnant!"

"WHAT? How did this happen? I like babies that belong to other people, but..."

"Nah, I'm just kidding! That's such great news Ginger. I can't wait!"

"You almost gave me a heart attack Gael, that can't possibly be good for the baby."

"Gael, even though my brother-in-law is working out on the treadmill in the room that's supposed to be our living room and it's not romantic at all, will you marry me?"

"Aw Ginger, I wanted to ask you first. But yes, yes I'll marry you!"

Since they're just spares, I decided not to mess with a wedding party or a wedding under an arch or anything, and so in the most unromantic way ever, they eloped while smelling Judd's bodyodor.

With exception of the 'mean' trait, Gael is pretty well rounded for a sim. And he's good looking too, so I'm sure that their kid will be cute.

Speaking of kids, Basil has grown into a child! He matches at least, but we're still going to send him to the mirror.

Basil is really adorable. Not that I had any doubts about that, both of his parents are good looking. He got the genius trait from his father as well, which is nice. I've had pretty good luck with my sims traits so far.

Now that he's a child, I send him to the playroom to read a book in the reading corner.

It looks like my reading corner is a success because soon, Gael is reading a book there too.

I will note, I had to delete the bookshelf from downstairs in order for them to use the reading corner because even if they were in the playroom and I selected that bookcase for read a book, they would go downstairs and get a book from down there and read it in the dining area.

Ginger loves to autonomously play with her nephew, so I have no doubts that she'll be a fantastic mother.

Finally, a sighting of Laurel! Hi Laurel!

"I'm bored. Being a ghost is boring."

Go play on the computers or something.

Even though her sister is still pregnant, Juniper is now expecting the second baby of generation three!

Judd gave her the same sad face as always, and then stared to the corner of the room. Announced pregnancies seem to make these male sims unhappy.

I feel like if this were the sims two, the shrink would come because they'd be so 'broken' from the news.

While Judd may not be too excited about his next child, Gael and Ginger are definitely excited for their baby.

Nice work ladies, you're both pregnant and you both came home with promotions! You're fantastic, keep up the great work!

I finally found the last Easter egg that I needed to complete the collection, and so the family now has the bunny.

I decided to display the eggs in the playroom for now. I may put them in the family inventory eventually, but for now I'm going to leave them up.

After some googling, I finally figured out where to meet the Growfruit lady. I'm ready to start the next part of the spring challenge!

Back at home, with the help of her father, Ginger gives birth to a baby boy named Turmeric.

Since he's the child of a spare, I had him aged up immediately. Which, was apparently really exciting because everyone crowded into the room. Even Paprika, who we haven't seen much of except in her Llamapegacorn outfit at the beginning of the chapter.

Turmeric is very cute, but he definitely got Donald and Ginger's mouth.

This is one of the Maxis made houses that came with the game, I had Ginger, Gael, and Turmeric move into it where they will spend the rest of their lives together.

Ginger seems to be pretty pleased with how her life turned out. So we'll leave this family here with their breakfast casserole. Though, I'm sure we'll be seeing them around town.

I sent Paprika to the gym to try to find herself a mate, but instead all we found was the Grim Reaper working out on the treadmill.

Basil brings Turmeric home from school the very next day, and the two play for hours on the pirate ship behind the house.

Baby two is finally on it's way!

It's another baby boy with Judd's really dark skin. If you look at his eyes, doesn't it look like he's crying?

Anyway, his name is Cilantro. I'm interested to see how he grows up, I like the dark skin so I'm sure he'll be adorable.

Um, what? (Scrolls back to previous slide, yes definitely wearing a green onesie.)

So, Cilantro got this glitch where when he was being held, he was in his normal green onesie. But, once he is placed in his crib, his onesie turns into the yellow and pink one that the girl babies wear.

Paprika finally got herself a boyfriend. She almost had one prior, but her insane trait was causing her to randomly yell at them and she kept ruining their relationship.

So once her relationship with Max Villareal, a playable but oh well, was high enough, they shared their first kiss.

I actually find these two very adorable.

I didn't want to risk Paprika ruining their relationship before they got married, so I quickly had her propose to Max the moment it was available.

I wanted to have them elope immediately after, but he decided that was a good time to head home.

So once it was morning, Paprika invited Max over and they eloped on the front porch.

Max is an adult, and so that's why his face looks wrinkled. He definitely has a terrible set of traits, but that explains why he's able to put up with Paprika's insanity.

Their first woohoo results in Paprika becoming pregnant!

Cilantro has become a child, and his skin got lighter? What the hell is wrong with this child?! I'm actually really upset, because I was looking forward to having a kid with the dark skintone. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I posted a thread on BoolProp, but nobody has responded to me.

Despite the fact that he has a glitched skintone, Cilantro is adorable and he has the eyeshape from our founder. He also got a good trait, though it doesn't really go with his aspiration.

Since he grew up right before school started, he didn't have to go to school. So I sent him to the park so he could get started on his aspiration.

There has to be an easy way to do Social Butterfly, but I haven't figured it out yet and so it is my most dreaded childhood aspiration. I really think they need to add more than just the four that they have. Maybe if/when they add toddlers.

Back home, Basil is working hard on his Rambunctious Scamp aspiration, and has completed it. While, I doubt I'll get a chance to finish a second one with everything else that's going on, I switched it to Whiz Kid since he's got the genius trait.

It looks like one of the sims that Juniper befriended when she was a teenager, was actually an alien in disguise because one evening the aliens came and abducted her!

I have completed the first of the two growfruit challenges. Now, I just have to grow one of perfect quality and bring it back to her!

Paprika's turn to have a baby has finally arrived, and it doesn't look like she's having a good time.

I apparently never took a picture of him as a baby, but this is Ancho. He is named after ancho chiles.

I definitely expected him to get either evil, mean, or insane, and it looks like I was correct in my assumptions.

Since Max was a playable that came with the game, he had a house already. His older brother and sister still live there, so I merged Paprika, Max, and Ancho with them and they got to move into Max's childhood home.

Max was thrilled to see his big brother and sister. Paprika is probably just excited about all the new rooms she can tell herself a story in.

But let's just leave this family here, I'm sure we'll see them floating around the neighborhood from time to time.

With both spares' lives complete and with them both out of the house, I had Juniper conceive the final baby of generation three. I'm hoping for a girl because we've had a lot of boys this generation if you include Ginger and Paprika's boys.

When Juniper told Judd she was pregnant again, he frowned and then literally just stared at her as if he was waiting for the punchline.

Sorry Judd, there's no punchline, she's pregnant.

It such a relief to only have these four in the house right now, I even got them to share a meal together.

Why do you look so smug Judd?

"I got a promotion!"

That's awesome!

"Yeah, it is for me, but not for you. See, now you're at that part where Kristina and Roxy hated. Now I have to mentor sims for my daily task."

Well, how bad could it be?

YOU DIDN'T EVEN GET 25% FOR MENTORING HER? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

This IS terrible.

Both ghosts are pretty active and show up a lot.

Donald likes to break everything in the house, but Laurel prefers playing chess with her pregnant daughter.

I don't know if it's true or not, so somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like the reason none of my homebirths have been twins or triplets is because they only have one bassinet, so I purchased the other two.

Everytime I've had twins, it's been from a hospital birth.

It looks like I bought the extra bassinets just in time too, because Juniper has gone into labor!

And it's a girl! I was so excited I startled my cat.

Her name is Cayenne, which I really like. I actually know a girl from where I used to work who is named Kayann but her name is said like cayenne.

Now that the last baby is born, I used the randomizer app I downloaded on my phone, and our heiress is going to be little Cayenne!

Juniper seems so very pleased that her daughter is the heiress, she cuddles her all the time, but she just looks at her so much sweeter than she did with the boys when she would cuddle them.

Cilantro is not pleased about the fact that his newborn sister is heiress. Or about her existence in general.

The focus room got a little bit of a makeover. I really liked the picture, and while it doesn't give any focus bonus, it does go with the room.

Basil and Cilantro are so upset about their sister being heiress, that they have turned themselves into a demon child!

No really, stop guys. It's creepy. Plus your Dad is pooping right behind you and he looks oddly satisfied about it.

After unmerging himself from his brother, it was time for Basil's teen birthday!

Basil actually grew up into some pretty decent clothes, I just want to make a few minor changes.

Basil is SO handsome guys. I'm interested to see how the jealous trait plays out.

Also, I didn't realize it until I was writing this chapter, but he's wearing the same shirt as Paprika's husband Max. Oh well.

I changed the color of his pants and glasses, and then gave him some different shoes. But other than that I pretty much left a good amount of what he had on as it was.

Coincidentally, it's also Cayenne's birthday the same day and she ages up into some interesting clothes.

Ironically, Juniper grew up into a very similar dress when she became a child.

I was pretty disappointed that she didn't get Laurel's eyeshape, it looks like that will die out with Cilantro.

Since she got the cheerful trait, I dressed her in bright colors. It just seemed fitting, and you guys probably know by now that I like bright colors.

Her whole outfit is bright colors. And yes, I put a lot of my sims in the TOMS and Converse because my favorite shoes are my TOMS and my Sanuk flip-flops.

Everyone was out of the house when Judd's adult birthday came, so he unfortunately had to celebrate alone with the really cool hamburger cake.

He looks pretty much the same as he did as a young adult, only now he has some bags under his eyes. But, he's still good looking.

"Mom, this is your granddaughter Cayenne. She's going to take over the legacy after me. Isn't that nice?"

"She doesn't have my eye shape."

"I know Mom, but she is cheerful just like you. I'm sure she'll do a great job."

And that's where we will end this chapter! I actually have all the pictures ready for the next chapter, I just have to write it up still. I hope to have it up Tomorrow or Monday.

If you celebrate, I hope you all have a Happy Easter Tomorrow!

Until next time! xo
